ASA President and Founder, Homaira Zahir, traveled to Afghanistan to distribute valuable educational supplies to Afghan schools and donated much needed healthcare medications to Afghan hospitals. View photos from her trip by clicking on the thumbnail images below.
Educational supplies delegated to Speenkalai School in Kabul included but were not limited to:
- Notebooks
- Pens & Pencils
- Rulers & Scissors
- Athletic Clothing
- Day Tents
Medications delegated to Aliabad Hospital in Kabul included but were not limited to:
- Tylenol
- Augmentin for bacterial infections
- Coreg for high blood pressure
- Avapro for diabetes and kidney disease
- Relafen for inflammation and pain
ASA's distributions in Afghanistan will be monitored and reinforced with help from its newly established local office in Kabul. ASA has enlisted Afghan volunteers to carryout vital tasks essential to our success.
Our Immediate Goals
ASA hopes to continue to contribute to the success and development of Afghan schools. Current donations will be applied towards:
- Building safe and modern classrooms
- Providing salary assistance to school faculty
- Endowments in the form of school uniforms and educational supplies
With help from our donators, ASA will continue to provide healthcare assistance to hospitals throughout Afghanistan.
Healthcare endowments will include:
- Sponsorship programs-allowing trained medical personnel to travel to Afghanistan and conduct educational courses encompassing various healthcare issues
- Further donations of medical supplies and equipment
